The JCB 444 is a 4.4-litre, in-line 4-cylinder diesel engine using a turbocharged and aftercooled (TCAE) air intake system with a high-pressure common rail fuel system.
A key advantage of the 55kW Tier 4 Interim specification is that it achieves emissions compliance entirely through advanced in-cylinder combustion technology — no diesel particulate filter (DPF), no SCR system, and no AdBlue required.
Maximum torque is 400Nm, delivered at 1,200–1,300rpm. This engine is fitted with 24V electrics.
This engine is suited to a wide range of off-highway and auxiliary power applications including skid steer loaders, forklifts, telescopic handlers, hydraulic power packs, generators, and screeners.
