Hopped into a next gen 320 recently-first thing I noticed was no key, just a code and button to start. Spare parts tucked behind the cab, good storage. Space in the cab is alright, I fit just fine and the controls are what you'd expect. Did notice the engine’s pretty small though, might question power if you’re handling big stuff all day. All those new lines and sensors are making things complicated, guess that’s where machines are going now. At least it's brand new so maintenance hasn’t been an issue for me yet. Not sure I love all the gadgets but the basics work. Not a bad ride, has its quirks.

Ran a used CAT 320 on a street rebuild job for a couple months. The engine’s got good grunt, never felt underpowered digging hard clay. Controls feel pretty steady, maybe not as tight as newer models but no surprises. Hydraulics are smooth enough, I didn't run into annoying lag or weird noises which you sometimes get with beat-up machines. Maintenance isn’t a nightmare either, parts aren’t hard to track down. Only thing, it’s not the most comfy cab if you’re running 10+ hours. It’s fine but your back notices by the end of the week. I’d still grab one of these over a lot of the others out there, especially if you’re watching the budget.

Been operating the Caterpillar 320 on-site, and it has a strong engine performance, efficient for digging tasks. Sometimes it feels a bit large to maneuver in tighter spots, but still manageable. Fuel consumption seems decent, better than other models I’ve tried, and having a wide service network definitely helps. It might require some getting used to with the controls if you're switching brands.

Operating the Caterpillar 320 has mostly been a pleasant experience. The hydraulic system is robust, offering ample power when needed. That said, I do wish it consumed slightly less fuel under heavy loads. The convenience of the controls allows for adapting quickly between tasks. Reliability hasn't been a problem, even with consistent daily use. It's a solid choice for most jobs.

I've been using the Caterpillar 320 for various digging operations over the past year. The control system is quite intuitive, making precision movements much easier compared to some older models. However, I felt the cab could be a little more ergonomic for long working hours. Maintenance on this machine is reasonable. I've encountered no major issues, which is a relief. In general, it performs as expected in reliability and overall convenience.
